Our Events
Annually, we host several major events along with a number of smaller fundraisers, as well as participate in local community activities to generate awareness. With each, our goal is simple: to bring quality events to the community, offering vendors exposure opportunities for their businesses while ensuring attendees have a positive experience. Our Major Annual Events
Poker Run (Spring) - This event offers motorcycle (and now car!) enthusiasts a fun way to support our charity while they ride. There are multiple stops at area F&B locations and three prizes for the winning poker hands.
Food Truck Rodeo (Spring) - This is a great community event with food trucks (obviously!), vendors, adoptables and other on-site activities for the entire family. Rescue Me (September) - Rescue Me brings together community members, vendors, food trucks, volunteers and representatives from several different local shelters and rescue groups to promote the critical message we all share: Adopt. Foster. Donate. Volunteer! Always held at Cypress Gardens, this event typically sees thousands of visitors, with attendance growing annually! (photos provided by courtesy of Erik Beard). Egg My Yard (Easter, annually)
Each year we hide candy-filled Easter eggs at your home the Saturday night before Easter Sunday, while you enjoy the evening with your family without a care in the world. We have hidden over 2,000 eggs annually throughout Berkeley County.
Bow Wow Bingo: A Wednesday every month
Each month we host a music bingo event at Stones Throw Tavern in Goose Creek. Bring a blanket, pet toy, treats for cats or dogs, bleach, laundry detergent, or any needed supplies to receive one free beer. Bingo is free to play. Three games with a free beer for the winner for two rounds and a $20.00 gift card for the final round. We also raffle off a 50.00 gift card for Stones Throw. Tickets must be purchased at the event.
Puppies in the Window/Smooch a Pooch: (February, in conjunction with SEWE)
Each year we host this event at Dumas and Sons to meet the cutest pups EVER from Berkeley Animal Center during M. Dumas and Sons' annual Puppies in the Window event!
This event takes place in the heart of Downtown on King Street, during Southeastern Wildlife Expo (SEWE), usually mid-February!
Pints For Paws: (Spring and Fall)
Hosted by FOBAC and Stones Throw Brewery
Join us for a wonderful day of puppy kisses, vendors, music, beers, raffle items, baked goods and fun. Bring a donation of animal toys, blanket, peanut butter, apples, frozen waffles, frozen pancakes or soft treats and receive a free pint. Berkeley Animal Center dogs will be on-site for adoption.
Other Events and Fundraisers
In addition to our major events, we regularly host auctions throughout the year. It's truly a win-win as bidders end up with great finds and we are able to save the lives of at-risk shelter animals and support other shelter needs as well. We also have our online store that is open 24/7/365!
We offer an opportunity to memorialize your support through our brick fundraiser. These bricks can be personalized to honor a loved one or to commemorate a special occasion - or just to support our group and the shelter animals we serve! Personalized bricks are incorporated into the the walkways around the shelter for all visitors to enjoy. Orders will be sent in to the company for engraving once a total of 20 bricks are ordered and laid by Berkeley County staff as their scheduling permits.
We also participate in other local community events such as National Night Out, Trunk or Treat and local holiday parades. We want the community to see us and become a part of our important mission!
